Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square Enix’s ambitious reimagining of the classic 1997 title, is hot on its way this Friday, April 10th. However, a few days ahead of the game’s official launch, the review embargo seems to have broken – and we now see a flood of reviews coming in from media outlets. While Nexus Hub will sadly have a review for the game a bit later, in the meantime, here’s a group of reviews from the corners of the internet to assure you that this remake is a worthy one.

Marco Cocomello of Glitched writes, “Final Fantasy VII Remake could have gone south very quickly but instead, Square Enix has crafted an authentic experience that brings the world of Midgar and its cast to life in new ways.” Glitched awarded the game a 9.8/10.
Garth Holden of SA Gamer writes, “Final Fantasy VII Remake is a heartfelt love letter for Final Fantasy VII fans, and it makes for a great opportunity for anyone who hasn’t ever experienced the world to hop in and get acquainted with it all.” SA Gamer awards the game a 9/10.
Darryn Bonthuys of Critical Hit writes, “Square Enix could have easily slapped some new HD skins on the original Final Fantasy VII and called it a day, but Final Fantasy VII Remake is something that feels like the last hurrah for a game which shaped a generation.” Critical Hit awards the game an 8/10, though cites some problems with its pacing.

As of writing, the anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake has an average of 87/100 on Open Critic, with 92% of critics recommending the game.
